Working By Grace Ministries

Mother's Day, May 10,1998, my brother Ricky Harper passed away at the age of 40. Ricky rode with a secular motorcycle group and because of that he was shunned by our community.
My family for several generations was active in the community and helped build as well as financially supporting several churches in the area where I grew up. When my brother passed away, those same churches would not allow us to have his funeral in any of them. They did not want bikers in their churches.
The city and county in which we lived treated Ricky's funeral as if he were a fugitive on the run from the law. Road blocks were set up by the police and ID's were checked. Helicopter's flew over the cemetery during his service. Church members hid in the basement watching through the windows. Rumors were started and spread. The behavior that I witnessed by the Christian community saddened my spirit and broke my heart.
God put in my heart to let the world know that just because you ride a motorcycle it does not make you an out cast. God also put I my heart to let the church members know that He made His house so that everyone could come and know him, not just those that they decided was OK to let in.
God gave me a vision of a patch, then a Ministry, that would meet you where you were at and be a friend to the lost. Not to judge or to force things down peoples throats. Jesus came to serve and the is what Working By Grace Ministries wants to do. We are about our Father's business.
